Baby Ballet: 30 min. 2-3 yrs
Develops basic coordination and dance vocabulary. (Child must be potty trained)
Pre-Ballet/Tap: 45 min. 4-6 yrs
An introductory class to the basics of both ballet and tap.
Dance/Gym Combo: 45 min. 4-6 yrs
A 20-minute creative movement class followed by a 20-minute gymnastics class.

BALLET

BALLET

A highly technical and artistic dance form using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures, characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements. Ballet is the foundational form from which all other dance styles have developed. It requires strong technique, athleticism, and grace.

Junior Ballet: 1 hr. 7-10 yrs
A serious beginner-level class for those new to ballet or those working on improving their technique.
Apprentice Ballet: 1 hr. 9-14 yrs
An intermediate-level class. Pre-requisite: junior ballet or equivalent.
Senior Ballet: 1 hr. 11-18 yrs
An advanced class for students with strong technique. Pre-requisite: director’s discretion.
Progressing Ballet Technique: 1 hr. 9-18 yrs
A drop-in class that will help students advance in all dance forms by training muscle memory. Focus is on core stability, weight placement, and alignment. A wonderful form of cross training. Taught by an internationally certified instructor.
Pre-Pointe: 1 hr. 10-18 yrs
Pre-requisite: must be taking either apprentice ballet or senior ballet.
Pointe: 1 hr. 12-18 yrs
Pre-requisite: must be taking senior ballet and be approved by the director

TAP

TAP

Invented by William Henry Lane, tap is a style of dance characterized by using metal taps on the heels and toes of tap shoes to strike the floor, creating rhythms.

Junior Tap: 1 hr. 7-10 yrs
A serious beginner-level class for those new to tap or those working on improving their technique.
Apprentice Tap: 1 hr. 9-14 yrs
A beginner to intermediate level class that focuses on the basics, but moves at a quicker pace. Pre-requisite: junior tap or equivalent.
Senior Tap: 1 hr. 11-18 yrs
An intermediate to advanced class for students with strong basic technique. This class introduces complex steps and rhythms. Pre-requisite: apprentice tap or equivalent.

JAZZ

JAZZ

This style originated from African American social dancing during the 1920's. It is characterized by isolations, grounded movement, syncopation, contractions, and a dash of spiciness.

Junior Jazz: 1 hr. 7-10 yrs

Apprentice Jazz: 1 hr. 9-14 yrs
An intermediate-level class. Pre-requisite: junior jazz or equivalent.

CONTEMPORARY

CONTEMPORARY

An expressive style of dance that abandons the rigid, centered aspect of classical forms, and utilizes unconventional movements from styles around the world. It incorporates elements of ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Characterized by emphasizing movement, contrasting rhythms, the use of breath, and floor work.

ACRO

ACRO

A combination of classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Characterized by athleticism and choreography that seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics.

HIP HOP

HIP HOP

This style of dance was developed alongside hip hop music, and without a formal structure. It is characterized by isolations, popping, locking, breaking, and freestyle. It is constantly evolving and deeply entwined with the hip hop culture.

Apprentice Hip Hop: 1 hr. 9-14 yrs

MUSICAL THEATER

MUSICAL THEATER

Story-focused and character-driven movement while singing and acting. Choreography is often exaggerated and quirky. This class is for the triple-threat (students that can sing, dance, and act).

Junior Musical Theater: 1 hr. 7-10 yrs
A beginner-level class for those new to musical theater.
Apprentice Musical Theater: 1 hr. 9-14 yrs
An intermediate-level class. Pre-requisite: junior musical theater or equivalent.
Senior Musical Theater: 1 hr. 11-18 yrs
An advanced class. Pre-requisite: apprentice musical theater or equivalent.

ACTING

ACTING

An expressive art form of telling a story by enacting a character via movement, gesture, and intonation.

Acting 1: 1 hr. 7-10 yrs
Introduces students to basic acting techniques including mime, movement, scene study, cold reading, and character development.
Acting 2: 1 hr. 11-18 yrs
A faster paced class that further develops the above elements.

ADULT CLASSES

These are drop-in classes for anyone. All ages and skill levels welcome. So just come on by and join us whenever you feel like it, which we hope is all the time!

Dance with Me: 45 min.
A class designed for parents and their child (ages 3-6) to dance together! A parent, grandparent, uncle/aunt, or even nanny participate with and act as their child’s guide to learning creative movement, locomotor skills, rhythmic basics, and music appreciation.
Barre for Adults: 1 hr.
A hybrid workout class combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, Yoga, and strength training.
Adult Hip Hop: 1 hr.
See the above description for hip hop. This is a beginner-intermediate level class. The focus is to get sweaty and have fun.
Adult Tap: 1 hr.
A beginner-intermediate level class focusing on rhythm. A fun and unique way to stay healthy both physically and mentally.
